It’s no secret I’m passionate about Europe but when I’m on the road I get excited to hear people’s reaction when I tell them I’m Canadian! Ask any Canuck and they’ll tell you it’s like being a celebrity no matter where you go! There are so many reasons people love this country so having a reason to brag about it in a Canadian roulette was only fitting! Thanks to Tammy Burns from Anywhere and Here for sharing her favourites and tagging me! Here are my own 6 reasons to love Canada!
BeaverTails
No, I don’t mean the real furry guys but we do love them so much that we made a look-alike dessert! Next to our Canadian bagels, A BeaverTail is one of the most delicious sweet breads! You can have it with melted chocolate and banana or the original brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon.

Beer
That’s right. Being Canadian means you have your own beer named after you! We even know how to celebrate in Canada – downing an ice cold Canadian on home ice after winning gold in our national sport!

The Views
Most people think we live in igloos and that it’s too cold to enjoy the outdoors. Fortunately for us, Canada is filled with beautiful green space that makes for awesome hiking and peaceful retreats.

Adventure
From the peaks of Whistler’s ski hills to the bridges of Nanaimo, Canada is full of adventures for anyone with a craving for adrenaline.

Castles
Europe is not the only place with ancient architecture. Canada has some of the prettiest castles that date back to the 1800s. Some of them are now places you can actually sleep in for the night!

Maple Syrup
We still tap our own maple syrup! Since Canada has 85% of the earth’s supply, we do like to share it with rest of the world! It makes for tasty pancakes and savory french toast! We even have our own Canadian Maple Syrup Festival!

So this is #MyCanada and to keep the Canadian love going, I’m tagging fellow Canucks Tim and Nat from A Cook Not Mad to share what they admire about this awesome country! I have a feeling they got lots of edible reasons to visit this amazing land!
Have you been to Canada?
What do you like about the Great White North?

Super selection of highlights Cristina….any post with beaver tails and maple syrup is truly Canadian. I must get myself in gear and write one of these posts soon!
My recent post Getting Buggy in Borneo
You touched on one of my all time faves – maple syrup. It wouldn't be Sunday in Canada in our household without homemade pancakes and maple syrup. Great pictures.
It makes life sweeter doesn’t it?
This is great. I love being Canadian. There's a lot to do here, and so much of Canada that I haven't seen.
My recent post Visiting The Backstreet Cultural Museum in New Orleans
Absolutely! One of the things some of us don’t do enough is travel our own backyards! So I’ve made a resolution to be a tourist in my own country and city, and venture through my hometown neighbourhoods more often!
I love this post. It's great to hear about good ol' Canada when I'm so far away. I commit to visiting Ottawa for a skate down the Rideau and a beaver tail, as well as a visit to a maple tapping festival. Thanks Cristina!
My recent post Café Laurent: A Little Piece Of Paris In The Heart of Melbourne
Thanks Melanie! It’s so hard to narrow it down to only a few!
